Pair tokens
Pick the coin your token is priced in and bought with, and see what each choice costs.
A pair token is the coin your token is priced in and bought with. Most tokens pair with SOL. You pick it on step 1 of the wizard, in the Quote row. It cannot be changed after launch.
Which pairs each launchpad offers#
| Launchpad | Pairs |
|---|---|
| Pump.fun | SOL, USDC, Custom pairs |
| LaunchLab, Bonk, Bonkers | SOL, USD1 |
| StonkFun | a stock only |
| Bags | SOL |
| pons | ETH, USDG, stocks, Custom CA |
SOL#
The default and the simplest choice.
- Pick it when you want buyers to pay with the coin they already hold.
- Cost — no extra swap. The dev buy and all task amounts are in SOL.
- For buyers — they buy and sell with SOL.
Only a SOL pair on Pump.fun can use OTC Desks pairing.
USDC and USD1#
USDC and USD1 are stablecoins, coins that stay close to one US dollar.
- Pick it when you want your token's price to follow dollars, not SOL.
- Cost — the creator wallet must already hold the stablecoin for the dev buy. The launch does not swap for it. Use Convert on the Wallets page first. That swap has its own small cost.
- For buyers — the price is in dollars. In this app, a buy with SOL is swapped through the stablecoin first.
Custom pairs on Pump.fun#
Pick Custom pairs in the Quote row. A Pair row opens. Until you pick, it reads "pick the token the curve is quoted in".
- Pick a chip in the Pair row.
- Or open More pairs… (n), where n is how many more there are. Listed holds the stocks and coins pump.fun accepts as a pair. Pump coins holds coins that other launches pair with. Each one ends in "via X", the coin or coins a buy passes through first.
- Or click Any pump coin, paste the address of any coin launched on pump.fun, and click Use. The app checks the coin first.
A line under the row sums up your pick. If the list does not load, the row says "pump.fun pairs unavailable" with the reason.
Stocks on Pump.fun (Custom pairs)#
A tokenized stock from the Listed group or the chips.
- Pick it when you want your token to trade against a stock.
- Cost — you type the dev buy in SOL. The launch swaps it into the stock, then buys your token. The creator wallet only needs SOL. The swap has a small cost.
- Fees — you set the Custom-pair fee (%), the creator fee every trade pays. From 0.01% to 3%, default 1%. It is final at launch.
- For buyers — a buy goes SOL to stock to your token. In this app it can take two transactions. If the second one fails, the wallet keeps the stock, and you can swap it back in the terminal.
Another pump coin (Custom pairs)#
Pick a coin from the Pump coins group, or paste one with Any pump coin.
- Pick it when you want your token tied to another pump coin.
- Cost — amounts are in SOL. The launch, with its dev buy, is one transaction. No wallet needs to hold the pair coin.
- Fees — the same Custom-pair fee (%) as for stocks. Each trade crosses two or more markets and pays the trading fees of each.
- For buyers — they pay SOL. The line under the row shows the buy route, for example "each buy routes SOL → PUMP → your coin in one transaction". Each sell is one transaction too.
A coin can be priced in another pump coin. Then the route has more steps, such as SOL → A → B → your coin. If the line does not end with "in one transaction", the chain starts in another coin, such as USDC. That coin is bought first.
StonkFun stocks#
StonkFun has no SOL pair. You must pick a stock before you can launch. Until you do, the Stock row reads "pick the stock the curve is quoted in — StonkFun has no SOL quote".
- Pick a stock chip in the Stock row, or open More stocks… (n).
- Or click Mint, paste a stock's address, and click Use. Only stocks StonkFun lists work.
- Wait for "Checking quote availability..." to finish.
A stock that is new to the app may have no SOL route yet. You see a message such as "No SOL route to SPYX yet — finding one now. Retry in a few seconds." The app checks again by itself every 5 seconds, up to 6 times. You can also click the refresh button, Retry quote check. If the check still fails, pick another stock.
- Cost — you type the dev buy in SOL. The launch swaps it into the stock first. The creator wallet only needs SOL.
- Mode — Standard, Reward or Community. Reward and Community add a 1% or 3% tax on every transfer. Community shows only when the stock offers it. See StonkFun options.
- For buyers — the same as stocks on Pump.fun: SOL is swapped through the stock.
pons pairs (Robinhood Chain)#
On pons (Robinhood Chain), the Quote row offers ETH, USDG (the Global Dollar) and stocks, with more under More stocks…. Custom CA takes any 0x token address pons accepts. Click Use to check it.
- ETH — the wallets spend their own ETH. Nothing is swapped.
- USDG, a stock or a custom token — you type the dev buy in ETH. The launch swaps it into the pair token first. A 1% swap fee comes out of the dev buy. The launch fee and network fees are on top, in ETH.
The line under the picker shows how much of the pair token the bonding curve needs to graduate.
The dev buy and every task buy spend real money at launch. See Real funds & confirms.
Limits with Custom pairs#
- Mayhem mode is not offered with Custom pairs.
- A Bundle with a Custom pair fits at most 8 buyers.
